I've noticed the memory leak too - i find that after a few hours that my computer has

You are telling your XP box to get DNS from your ISP, so these
have to get MASQ'ed or NATted. Make sure you are forwarding and
masquerading UDP port 53. (and allowing the replies back).
Also try http://216.239.35.100 (google).
If that works then only the DNS needs fixing.

Here's the thing, if I logout, I'm prompted to login again right. There

In order to get normal users to burn CDs, mount CDs, etc. I needed to add "users" to the line corresponding to my burner in my /etc/fstab file.

Koncd, run as the root user and in the configuration menus you can
add a list of users who are allowed to use the program.
Then those users can run Koncd without root privs.

If you are using KDE, then this is a known issue with screensavers not

Hyperthreading may not be the issue in this case. I had a Dell PE6600
that would lock hard, no network, no log file entries, no console
response and the issue was the NIC kernel module. Check out these

Maybe someone has an idea?
Recently started having a problem where
"host $SHORTNAME" works,
"nslookup $SHORTNAME" works,
but ping/ssh/ftp/rsync don't?
It works for some short hostnames consistently, but for other
hosts does not work.
Stopping nscd seems to fix the problem compl
I'm trying to install via HTTP, and it is saying that it is retriving
netstg1.img, but it has been doing that for, I don't know, 30-40
minutes!? Should it take so long?
I can see there is network traffic going on!

Hi,
Got unix ODBC and oracle client 9.0 installed on a linux machine but can't
do SQLPrepare for a valid statement. The client code is on linux, trying to
extract oracle data on a windows 2000 database server.
The /usr/local/etc/odbc.ini file looks like:

is there a provided tool for RH7.3 that will enable me to resize
existing disk partitions cleanly and easily from single user mode?
I know of several old fasioned ways involving tar and fdisk :-) just
curious if Hat has created something akin to partition magic for ext3.

It is, however, working properly. The problem is that in the first
example, you specified the -l first...this makes ls think that you are
looking to list the current directory's contents, of which mysql is a
part.
In the second example, the order causes ls to think that you want to

I just installed a RH 8.0 machine, SSH is running as a
service, and I can SSH to localhost (key exchanges and logs
me in), but if I try to do it from another machine on the LAN
