do you have a real good TV? if not, don't bother. My TV is real old(~1986 probably, works good for normal TV though). I have a dreamcast and once fired up linux on it, started X, was cool to see X running on my TV. but the refresh rate was so bad(50hz ?) it hurt my eyes to stare at it for more then a few seconds. console was not so bad, but X was totally unusable(it worked great with VGA out connected to a monitor). I remember seeing special gateway 2000 systems back in the mid to late 90s when they shipped with a 32" tv or something, even those looked pretty bad, the system was limited I think to 640x480 or 800x600 or something, and of course the image was real blocky since most TVs have big pixels. I think your better off setting up a console on the serial port then whenever you need console access hook a null modem cable inbetween your laptop and the server and login using a terminal program such as minicom. if your laptop doesn't have native serial ports theres tons of usb->serial adapters out there(though i've never used one). the server will require a real serial port though I believe. nate -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
