the running gui applications, allowing one to be selected via mouse or
keyboard.

nothing worked. Only reverting to the 4.4.0-130-generic kernel partially
fixed the problem, but sound still breaks when I suspend/resume.

For example, my local wireless router uses the domain "mylocaldomain"
and nameservers 10.157.10.12 and 10.157.10.14, so in 11.1
Unfortunately, the side effect of this "fix" is that now resolv.conf is
never updated by NM, causing anyone who upgraded to 12.04 to have broken
DNS.

I'm sad to report that my instructions do not permanently fix the
problem. For the first couple weeks, it seemed to work flawlessly for
me, but after some recent updates, suspending my laptop again apparently
breaks my iSight.
The good news is that at least /dev/video0 is always being creating

Cobbling together a few guides and bug reports I found elsewhere, here's
how I resolved this on my Macbook Pro 5,5 running Ubuntu 11.10.
1. Download AppleUSBVideoSupport driver file (e.g.
dl.getdropbox.com/u/332246/AppleUSBVideoSupport) and place at ~/Desktop
2. sudo apt-get install isight-firmwa
Just upgraded to 11.10 last weekend. The problem persists.
After a reboot or suspend, the device /dev/video0 may or may not exist.

Also, I noticed that Nautilus automatically saved a bookmark of my
connection. Unfortunately, as soon as I click on it, Nautilus
immediately crashes due to the segmentation fault.

Using the "Connect To" dialog in Nautilus, I connected to a remote
machine via SFTP/SSH.
Initially, it seemed to work fine, but when I attempted to navigate
folders, Nautilus crashed with a segmentation fault.
Running from terminal shows:
