Over a year old and no update? Is there any work around? I received this error shortly after upgraded Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. Then I had a hard drive failure and had to reinstall Ubuntu 16.04 from scratch, and the error went away. Then, after the first apt-get upgrade and reboot, the problem came back.
Google shows some people have fixed this by reconfiguring the locales package. http://askubuntu.com/questions/608330/probelm-with-gnome-terminal-on- gnome-3-12-2 However, this solution seems to be hit or miss. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1474927 Title: gnome-terminal crashes with "Error constructing proxy for org.gnome.Terminal:/org/gnome/Terminal/Factory0: Error calling StartServiceByName for org.gnome.Terminal: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Process org.gnome.Terminal exited with status 8" immediately after start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1474927/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
