Public bug reported: I'm trying to run the Ubuntu 16.04 ARM image, published at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/RaspberryPi/RaspberryPi3, but during boot, it will routinely give me one of two errors:
"fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed" "null pointer exception" Either message is fatal and requires me to manually power-cycle the Pi to continue. Often, the error will reoccur, but after 3 or 4 cycles it will usually boot successfully. To rule out hardware problems, I've tested two different Pi3, as well as several SD cards, doing write checks on the SD cards to ensure there are no faults. These errors have occurred on many different combinations of Pi3s and cards, implying it's a software issue. ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1597813 Title: Ubuntu 16.04 unable to boot on Raspberry Pi 3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd-rootfs/+bug/1597813/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
