You could look into the xinet.d directory in /etc edit the relevant
files such as telnet and allow for the connection. Restart the xinetd
deamon and you should be in business.

(ie RHL 7.2 upgraded to 8.0). up2date sometimes still think that the system
it is handling is still 7.2 when it was already upgraded to RHL 8.0.

either case. Maybe this is the reason that most sysadmins I know don't
