I am running Red Hat 8.0. I would like to know why I can't seem to compile and install this KDE application from source. I downloaded KFish-2.01 from the KDE website, compiled and did a make install.
It copied all the files into /usr/local/kde/lib/kde3. The files were: kfish_panelapplet.la kfish_panelapplet.so kfish_panelapplet.so.1 kfish_panelapplet.so.1.0.0 None of them is an executable. Seeing that most of the panel files were located in /usr/lib/, I copied all these files into /usr/lib. I restarted X hoping that it would pick up the new files, but no luck. What do I have to do to get KDE to pick it up so I can use Panel->Add to add this to my desktop panel? I hope this isn't a too dumb question! Ideally, I'd have used the rpms but there weren't any available for RH8.0. -- J.R Ong || [EMAIL PROTECTED] URL: http://jrong.tripod.com ____________________________________ Using KMail on KDE3.0.
