i've seen up2date doing some conflicting actions for an 'upgraded' system
(ie RHL 7.2 upgraded to 8.0).  up2date sometimes still think that the system
it is handling is still 7.2 when it was already upgraded to RHL 8.0.

i'm not pretty sure what u mean of the 'obsoletes list' - but up2date should
get the latest updates-not the old ones.

ok, i understand this. 
in my case, i checked that it keeps the latest package installed.

but in the case there are obsolete packages remaining in the
default-list of the wizard, what shall i do ? 
these obsolete packages correspond to older versions of programs (ex.
kde-base and koffice). 
i mean, that the wizard suggests something which is erroneous. 
how to tell this to the wizard ?
