Does anyone know of the most appropriate mailing list or FAQ forum for questions/problems such as the following:
I've installed the MPEG player and its graphical frontend (gtv) from the package "smpeg-0.4.4-3.i386.rpm". The application launches OK and seems to run the movie (at least in the gtv dialog/progress window), but the window that's supposed to display the actual movie is blank/black. Any ideas as to why this may be?? I've tried various releases of the smpeg RPMs, with same problem. Some maybe-relevant parameters:

I checked the /var/log/XFree86.0.log file for any errors associated with running gtv, but found none. Also checked $HOME/.xsession-errors and found a bunch of garbage/miscellaneous metacharacters like this:
