Installed 8.04 amd64 release.
System detects nvidia video and asks to install
nvidia-glx-new from non-free. Downloads and
then adept-batch displays error message:

tried the skip button and no response from system.

Go ahead and close the bug report. It was some time
ago and have switched to Xubuntu and have not seen
a problem.
I know that there are number of things keeping the team
busy and this is not that important. IMHO.
