more ammo to throw at the solaris admins to convince them to start
running ssh.

16-bit pcmcia card. it will not work at all with RH 5.0. the pcmcia in
RH 5.1 (3.0.0) has rudimentary cardbus support, but i don't think many
cardbus cards work with it. 3.0.1 is better and i think at least the
3com 10/100 card sort of works. see

i'd think they'd do a mke2fs as well to finish the

to get this back on topic, i don't know if the Xconfigurator in RH 5.0
or 5.1 will set you up with 1280x1024 at quite that high of a
refresh. here's the modeline i use:

d. a web search should turn it up
somewhere at threewave.planetquake.com. the readme files it comes
with should tell you what else you'll need and need to do like grab
the latest mesa and glide libraries. i got it all working on a
friend's machine a while back and became quite jealo

aspc125.as.arizona.edu. i specified NFS install, gave chester as the
NFS server host, and /home/tim/redhat as the directory. worked like a
charm.

it was something dodgy
with sharing the PS/2 port between two pointing devices, but
apparently it isn't necessarily that. FWIW, i haven't personally seen
this happen on any other machine with a PS/2 mouse, though most

u have a problem with "LI" or "L 80 80 80 80", you can always
boot from the redhat boot floppy by saying:
vmlinuz root=/dev/hdxx
at the boot: prompt where the xx is replaced by the appropriate letter

hope this helps,

i second what he said. i got X running on my 500CDT without a
problem. be sure you're using XFree86 and not metro-x. metro-x does
not support the C&T chipsets like the one in the toshiba very well and
may be your problem.
