if the 4300 is backwards compatible with the 4000, you're ok. i have a
4000 and it works great with ghostscript. people tell me the epson
st600 and st800 are the low-cost color printers of choice for linux.
i have not used them personally, though, and i don't know if they
support A3 size paper.
