but seems strange that shortly before Fedora, etc Red Hat has a certificate

As an alternative to exploring 'runlevel' you can press "Ctrl-alt-F2" or
F3, F1, or whatever, log in as root, and then do a:
killall X
startx
This ought to clear things up in many cases. Other thing, you should make
sure you;re not running X as root, dangerous things can happen.

I am using vsftpd for my FTP Server (RH9).
I have my /var/log/vsftpd.log setup so that I can log the transactions.
Is it possible to determine if a file was downloaded vs. uploaded to any account?

I have a Dell Inspiron 8500 Wide-Screen model and it works
beautifully. There are a few minor issues that need some whacking with the
proverbial hammer to get running, but they aren't going to ruin your day.
The first issue is the Wide-Screen. It takes some tweaks to get X to
fill

above. It appears that when kernel source is installed the older version
is removed. I am not sure why, but although I have never deleted any

I am facing two strange problems.
a) Every text file I edit in my system shows strange
chars whenever it contains such as á, é etc.
It seems to be charset related since when I open the
files (from kate, quanta etc) as iso8859-15 instead of
utf8 everything is fine.
b) I have configured the
