I have a stupid question for you. When I installed 7.2 (later 7.3) I chose
ipchains rather than iptables so that I could use my old 6.x firewall. What
must I do to switch to iptables?

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# rpm -qi iptables

Summary : Tools for managing Linux kernel packet filtering capabilities.
Description :
The iptables utility controls the network packet filtering code in the
Linux kernel. If you need to set up firewalls and/or IP masquerading,
you should install this package.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# uname -r
2.4.18-5

I vaguely recall (imagine?) sometime in the past being told that I would have
to build a new kernel.

Thanks for any information.
