they differ. Trying "aptitude reinstall bluez-utils" gave me no new
version of this init script. I also checked the installed version on

randomly. BUT, why could it switch to english, when there is no english
layout present. I deleted the english layout, when I installed the
german layout. (i got the backslash sign, when I pressed + key)

It is not a bug! But it looks like nobody documented the changes.
Simply chown the rndc.key-File to root:root. Start the dhcp server! That's it!

I installed the deb-Package manually, because it's not a good idea to
activate the proposed-packages on a production system. There is no
difference ... rpcbind does not start.

Problem solved!
The partition has an ext3 filesystem on it, but was mounted in
/etc/fstab as an ext4 partion! Changing fstype to ext3 in /etc/fstab
solves this problem. Now I can resize it online without problems.

I think (I hope), I have found the reason. It was apparmor. Maybe, there
were profile updates in the past?!
I did the following:
$ sudo aa-complain rpcbind
$ sudo service rpcbind restart
$ sudo service ypbind restart
$ yptest
was ok and gave me the list of all users, groups and others
$ ls -l /n
I think Ubuntu was NOT tested on a system with 2 NICs. I commented out
thes sleep lines and it will boot without issues. My
/etc/network/interfaces contains eth0 and eth1 and these static
interface definition will remain there, since I use NIS. Former Ubuntu
releases had no problem with this config
Yesterday's upgrade from 10.04.4 to 12.04.1 brought me ramdom freezes.
Before the desktop freezes, the display is messed up, like the picture
in Comment #10. Does anybody know, how to solve this problem?
