The system is not a private PC, but used in a production environment.
Therefore I decided to use LTS versions of Ubuntu to minimize the
administration efforts (9 Clients, 2 Server). What I can do is to
convert the system to vmware or virtualbox and upgrade it to jaunty.
But this will take a little bit of time.

For testing purposes, I removed the profile directory ".openoffice.org2"
and started openoffice writer again, but this behaviour does not change.
I created a new document, because my first assumption was, that it has
something to do with the document structure (Mostly the documents will
be copied and modified). Still there was no chance to print the
document. CUPS doesn't show any errors.

On my system at home, I created a new account and copied the profile
directory and the document into it, but I COULD print this file. Now I
assume, It has something to do with the private configuration. Was there
another config directory in older versions of openoffice? (The System
was first setup with feisty (because dapper did not recognize all
hardware components) and upgraded to gutsy and hardy) All other
applications (except openoffice) can print without problems. Exporting
to PDF and printing this file works too.

I searched for the problem on the inet and found ...
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=329009. Can this be a reason? I
will try it out, when I drive to the office next time.

Bye,
Ralf
