i have software-center 5.3.3.1 and apt-xapian-index 0.44ubuntu5 (ie:

after login after reboot. Got dialogue saying it was already reported
and it opened browser window to here; got here and it says it's fixed in

seem relevant unless it's because I was in the process of selecting an

After months of successful operation under oneiric, serving several Lion
clients, this problem hit me just now out of the blue, symptoms and log

the arrays in mdadm.conf isn't significant, or they initialise in too-

1: System was freshly installed after 11.10 release. This has worked
since then until now.
2: Vinagre is able to see remote desktop shares on the network (again,
mostly macs doing screen sharing), so the zeroconf on the network does
appear to be working.

(luckily they came in consecutive updates so I can tell). :-)

but afterwards, for each one, I was left with a loopback device visible
in the unity launcher and the disk utility. They're not mounted, and
attempting to mount them fails

afpd fails to start: "Failed to create entry group: Not per
In fact the bug does seem to relate to user service publishing. I re-
enabled that in avahi-daemon.conf and restarted netatalk and it
immediately sprang back into life.
A little further digging and I found the -nozeroconf option for afpd, so
used that, and am now happy. :-)

On Oneiric beta, when opening the Connect dialog to connect to a new
server, the window that opens is empty except for the buttons at the
bottom, which makes it a bit hard to use. Screenshot attached.

you don't get it by choosing to install zeitgeist, it comes in as a
dependency of unity-place-files and unity-place-applications, which are
recommended dependencies of unity. Remove zeitgeist and you lose the
unity place things too.
meh, no loss; launcher's too full on this netbook anyway, and al
(however doing that mostly kills the dash, alt-f2 et al, which i had been
counting on using more to compensate for losing the applications place.
Seems they're the same thing. Ah well.)
pls to release fix for natty; zombies are unsightly, unseemly, untidy and
just plain unhygienic. :-)
