Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apport
I recently (not for the first time) experienced a SEGV in compiz, which robbed me of my window decorations and keyboard entry. Being a responsible tester ;-) i clicked on Report Problem and carried through on that (although I had to defer describing the problem until later), but having selected "Report Problem" I had no way to relaunch compiz or do a unity --reset. On repeating the problem I did do a Reopen and got my compiz back, but of course, no error was reported. It would be great if we could select a button to start the bug-report process going, but *also* to perform the reopen so we can get a functional desktop back in order to better report the bug. :-) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: apport-gtk 1.20-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-7.35-generic 2.6.38 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-7-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Mar 18 20:01:46 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100429) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_GB:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: apport UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-02-26 (20 days ago) ** Affects: apport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/737791 Title: need to be able to "Report Bug, then Reopen" -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
