Please note, that the AMD64 box I was reported the bug from is not
available for me now. However here is an x86 box, also running edgy, and
having similar issue, content of /proc/swaps is:

/dev/sda1
Now, I've access to the AMD box again and the bug seems not to have
occur now.

Binary package hint: slapd
slapd in Ubuntu Dapper (2.2.26-5ubuntu2.1) cannot be stopped with
"/etc/init.d/slapd stop", I need to "kill " it. I've discovered
that problem goes away if I chown dir /var/run/slapd to user ldap, since
I run slapd as user ldap (set in /etc/default/
Sure, it's not trivial for everyone, but altering rights and ownership
of /etc/ldap and /var/lib/ldap ... etc required once only, however

/var/run is on tmpfs (at least on Ubuntu, of course), that's why I've

Also please note that some softwares _refuses_ to work as root or at
least it's not default. Since running slapd as root hasn't got any

but sure, slapd can drop its privs as soon as possible), I think the

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser
After some time of Epiphany usage, CPU load caused by Epiphany goes to
100%, even if there is only one blank tab is open (ie, I open a new tab
and close old ones). It seems the problem occures after at least one
file download ("save as"
Ok, maybe it's issue of the installer (generated bad /etc/silo.conf or
whatever). If so, is there a workaround, like booting CD with rescue
mode and do something to be able to boot from mirrored md device?

It seems this is no longer an issue for me, after a dist-upgrade some
days ago (don't remember exactly which dist-upgrade cause the update of
usplash which cured my problem). Now the monoscope like splash is shown,
and boot is fast! However there is no usplash at shutdown dunno it's
problem or not.

process seems to be a bit slower than it was before, dunno it's real or
