Public bug reported: After upgrading from intrepid to jaunty (on 32 bit x86) sound does not work with the default settings. I can't hear the login sound, no sound in totem, neither with mplayer (configured to pulse or alsa output, of course the latter is set to use the pulseaudio in ,asoundrc, left from intrepid). The sound hardware works, since if I put "-ao oss" (OSS output) as parameter for mplayer, I can hear it, so it cannot be a hardware/hardware driver/hardware mixer problem I think. Pulseaudio's volume control seems to be ok, and it shows the output on its "playback meter" too, but no audible sound then.
Linux oxygene 2.6.28-8-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP Wed Feb 25 04:28:54 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux Package: pulseaudio Status: install ok installed Priority: optional Section: sound Installed-Size: 1752 Maintainer: Ubuntu Core Developers <ubuntu-devel-disc...@lists.ubuntu.com> Architecture: i386 Version: 0.9.14-0ubuntu10 I can also see this when using mplayer: [pulse] working around probably broken pause functionality, see http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/440 But I don't think so that it should be the problem since totem does not make any sound either. Thanks a lot in advance, please comment if you need further information. ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- no sound in jaunty with pulseaudio, oss sound output works https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337325 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
