Yes, I think this is related to bug 40571: screensaver don't work until
I set preferences in monitor power savings. The fact is that the power
savings preferences are not "remembered". By the way, the screensaver is
set after 8 minutes of inactivity, monitor is set to power off at 25
minutes.

More info: I could succesfully burn a DVD+R dual layer of the same brand
(Verbatim) from a 6,1 GB iso image, which makes me think that the bug is
only related to DVD-R DL. I attach the k3b log file.

This bug no longer happens in Kubuntu hardy heron. I have installed this
version and sound works OK. Suspend is OK too, but sometimes the screen
remains black after resuming laptop and I have to reset :-(

Just to let you know that I have been able to create an AVI file from

in MP3 (including a vobsub file for Spanish language subtitles). The

I think you should check Bug #802563... The problem is with AC3 sound,
not for merging two different audio tracks (it works for MP3). And I
think maybe the problem is related to transcode.
