** Tags added: confirmed kernel-fixed-upstream ** Description changed:
I bought this laptop three years ago. Used Kubuntu 14.04 and 15.04 without **any** problem. A couple of weeks ago I installed Kubuntu 16.04 as always (formatting /root partition and doing a fresh install, not an upgrade). Since then both suspend and hibernation hang the laptop: the screen goes black, the laptop seems to stop but it won't. After a couple of minutes the fan can be heard and there is no way to restart linux. I have to power off the laptop (the hard way) and then turn it on. I have followed some threads and it seems that this is a common bug (it happens in several different hardware configurations). The original 4.4.0-22-generic kernel has been updated to versions 23 and 24 (current) but no way. The bug is still present. Thanks a lot in advance!
