All I can say is WOOHOO! No more lockups when logging out or rebooting
the machine (RH 8.0). :)
Now I can actually flip over to the Linux side of this machine and try

Tonight I tried to install the lucent drivers for the modem in my
laptop. in the past I've used this before and have had no problem.
But now when I try to compile the module it complains that the source
code is not compatible with GCC 3.
There is a rpm for the driver for RH8 here:
