Yeah, just as soon as I posted I found this. I think too that I was seeking experiences, not just posting to have someone else do the work.

Thanks Jason for the offer. I was looking at this for two reasons 1) I have a ThinkPad I'm "two steps" from moving to RHL 2) I have a TiBook that I would also like to use the USB Wireless Adapter with.
I have actually learned from a combo of sources that many Wireless USB adapters are rebranded "guts". In fact Belkin has drivers for Mac OS X that, with some package tweaking, will install and operate Netgear MA101 equipment.
I think I have what I need now. Thanks for the help and encouragement.
