Alright. I've tested mozplugger 1.7.1-1 with an executable .so file and without and you're correct--.so files do not need to be executable. Neither one worked. I then copied the mozplugger cvs files to their destinations and it works fine now. By the way, that's Mozplugger CVS-20050812.
