I think that the problem is residing in the xmms_cfg_free function
defined in configfile.h (xmms-dev package) as:
void xmms_cfg_free(ConfigFile * cfg)
Or probably in the usage of g_free in every writing/reading operation
from the config file. This agrees with Andrew's supposition about files
being replaced with zero-length files. I'm going to test and debug a bit
with a small loopback ~ this week.
