I also noticed that the default fontsize is different in XFree86 vs Xorg. There was some discussion about default fonts that the X server knows about some time ago (I looked a little for it, but didn't see it - only recall that it came up in one of those discussions where one person was berating another for not knowing about this ;-) -- Thomas E.
