Congrats on the purchase.

I use the older 6x7 system. The three lenses I have - the 67 55mm f4,
the Takumar 105mm f2.5, and Takumar 150mm f 2.8 - are all excellent and
cover the spectrum from wide, to normal, to short telephoto. The 55mm
and 105mm are really excellent, the 150 is maybe a tad less sharp but
still fine.

A note on 55mm lenses: There are three of them. The old Takumar 55mm
f3.5 is reputed to be quite good, but takes a rather odd and large sized
filter. Then there is a 6x7 55mm f4 which is good, but not great. At
some focusing distances it produces some bad corner and edge distortion.
The 67 55mm f4 (note 67 vs 6x7) is really excellent. I had the 6x7 but
got rid of it and bought the 67 version instead.

If I were to add a lens it would probably be the 45mm.

For close up work I use a Canon multi-element closeup filter (500D) on
the 105mm - but smaller formats (35mm or digital) are better suited for
true macro work. The multi element filter lets you get fairly close with
no noticeable degradation of image quality though.

I use and older Bogen 3036 tripod and 3048 heavy duty ball head or 3057
heavy duty head - never had a problem with camera shake, but I use the
mirror lock up all the time.

Don't know about the 67 but the guy at the local camera repair shop
warned me not to leave the mirror locked up too long - he claimed that
if the lens is stopped down it will burn out the cloth shutter! Maybe an
urban legend.

Have fun -
