Has the foilage idea been on the Crystal Space SoC ideas page for a while? I seem to remember this is something we've talked about doing quite a bit. If we're planning on doing a shared plugin, it might be worthwhile to work something up from scratch, rather than just wrapping an existing library. For instance, perhaps re-implementing something similar to SpeedTree or OpenTree might be interesting. We could then customize it to Second Life and Crystal Space's needs.
Just my $0.02. :) ~Scott Tim Shannon wrote: > This is why I love open source. > > On another note, I'm guessing fast foliage is on the list of things to > do for the Open Apricot project as well. > > Apricot.blender.org > > On Thu, Mar 20, 2008 at 10:58 AM, Rob Lanphier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> (resend now that I'm on the list) >> -------- Original Message -------- >> Subject: Shared foilage plugin for Second Life and Crystal Space? >> Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2008 17:55:33 -0700 >> From: Rob Lanphier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> To: [email protected], Second Life Developer Mailing >> List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> >> >> >> (crossposting to Crystal Space and Second Life developer lists) >> >> Hi folks, >> >> I'm the open source busybody for Linden Lab (the Second Life folks).
