Okay, my bad - we have never used anything for server except FQDN (since ARS
3.2), in every reference to it that we set or enter, so I don't even think
about it on short name terms. The only place I use short name is when setting
the path for the files in the installers.

The problem is that if you don't refer to your server using the FQDN, and just
the short, you would want your URL to be

https://arsweb8.ars.unt.edu:8443/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifier&server=remedy7&eid=NTS000000332045

but Remedy doesn't allow any configuration to allow you to specify what is in
the &server= portion of the URL. I contacted BMC about this about a year ago
and they recommended I write a filter to replace the FQDN with my short name
because they don't allow configuration for it...so that's what I did, and it
works well...even though that's not a 'proper solution' in my opinion. Maybe
in a version post 7.5 they will offer that configuration option.

Here is what I have set in my 7.5 server Email Notification Web Path :

https://arsweb8.ars.unt.edu:8443/arsys

(In my past experience, putting a trailing "/" after /arsys results in a double
"//" in the email notification, so it is definitely a related setting.

Here are several notification URLS from the 7.5 server:

https://arsweb8.ars.unt.edu:8443/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifier&server=remedy7.ars.unt.edu&eid=NTS000000332045
Incident INC000000024471 has been assigned to your group 'ABN Support'.

https://arsweb8.ars.unt.edu:8443/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifier&server=remedy7.ars.unt.edu&eid=NTS000000332033
Incident INC000000024461 ownership has been set to your group 'Desktop Support'.

https://arsweb8.ars.unt.edu:8443/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifier&server=remedy7.ars.unt.edu&eid=NTS000000332371
Low Incident INC000000024472 assigned to your group (Libraries Helpdesk) as
Incident Manager, has been escalated.

They work as expected (when you have an appropriate account on the server).

I tried that, and all it did was append what I entered to the URL it is
building. 7.1 didn't do that before that I noticed.

I wasn't able to find an example of format to put in there, perhaps I did it
wrong. Do you have a sample you can provide that you know works?

Thanks,
Mark

We cannot seem to locate where Remedy stores the AR server name that it inserts
into the URL on a notification.

ARS 7.5
SQL Server
Windows OS

For example:

The URL in the email is something like this:

http://<webserve>...<ARServer>...12345<http://%3cwebserve%3e...%3cARServer%3e...12345>

The ARServer is wrong, and doesn't work. We've tried the configuration form,
server configuration tab, etc, but no luck.

Anyone know where this is stored so we can correct it?

It is putting the full path server.xyz.com instead of just server.

Thanks,
Mark
