A wild and crazy idea - I wonder if maybe there is a BIOS bug. Ralf,
are you able to try a boot with 4GB RAM and with a mem= on the boot
line in /boot/grub/menu.lst? And if it still gives the problem with
4GB, try 1MB less than 4GB or something like that.

does the thing it's supposed to do (ie save the config file) when you're
NOT running it under gnome-terminal itself.
If you try and run the command under another terminal emulator (say,

@ joseph salisbury, i have downloaded the image and header files but
they dont seem to run. please refer bug 697520. it has the same problem.
Even data is almost the same. The network key above f2 not working due
to missing patch. If testing the upstream version is absolutely
necessary please also
please also pay attention to the result of sudo rfkill list command.
Note also that there exists no other wireless switch other than the
special f2 key. thank you.
