Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
When upgrading from Kubuntu Edgy to Feisty, I received an error message that I needed to free at least 319MB disk space for /var/cache/apt/archives. So, I created /home/apt on a file system with 33GB available space, pointed /var/cache/apt at /home/apt and re-ran adept_updater. It still reports the problem. How can I work around the problem? Thank you very much. -- Bhaskar ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ df -kh Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/hda4 12G 9.8G 2.0G 84% / varrun 1014M 120K 1014M 1% /var/run varlock 1014M 4.0K 1014M 1% /var/lock procbususb 10M 120K 9.9M 2% /proc/bus/usb udev 10M 120K 9.9M 2% /dev devshm 1014M 0 1014M 0% /dev/shm /dev/hda1 12G 2.1G 9.5G 18% /media/hda1 /dev/mapper/hda2-aes 47G 14G 33G 30% /home tmpfs 1014M 18M 997M 2% /lib/modules/2.6.17-11-generic/volatile [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /var/cache/apt lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 2007-06-30 18:46 /var/cache/apt -> /home/apt [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /var/cache/apt/ total 20864 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 16 2007-06-30 18:22 archives -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11221535 2007-06-30 18:54 pkgcache.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10210997 2007-06-30 18:54 srcpkgcache.bin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Edgy to Feisty upgrade reports erroneous "Not enough free disk space" message https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123321 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
