Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20
I've just done the upgrade and then no more sound.
It's on a Toshiba A100-193 and the sound card should be from ATI (not really
well defined in the laptop doc)

[Feisty] Sound card (HDA) no more detected after switching from -8 to -9
https://launchpad.net/bugs/
Test I did :
remove /var/lib/alsa/asound.state + reload snd-hda-intel -> No change
reload snd-hda-intel with model=ref -> No change
Trying with asus, laptop and 3stack (I remember having to use them a long time
ago when my sound didn't work (It was Dapper I think)) -> No Change
Trying with enable
nope still the same result

Looking at the changelog of the kernel and the hardware I have, I think this
regression is due to the modifications which were done to patch_realtek.c
The question is now which exact part of it.

As I've just had this issue on my local server, I quickly made a backport of
Feisty packages.
They are available here : http://www.stgraber.org/download/ubuntu/packages/
And their use is of course at your own risks.
