Public bug reported: iTalc's upstream has released a new version of iTalc fixing some minor bugs and greatly improving VNC speed. With this new release, it should now be possible to see more than 15 computers at a time without having iTalc lagging like hell.
Here is a copy of upstream's changelog : * improved overall usability by adding new icons and reworking look of overview-mode [UI remains globally the same] * added new image-scaling algorithm with (optional) MMX-optimizations in order to use less CPU-time on master-computer when monitoring a lot of clients with short update-intervals [Greatly improves performance] * thanks to fast image-scaler, remote-control and demo-mode now scale screen in real-time instead of having the user to scroll [That's probably one of the most wanted fix for iTalc as it was hard to control a computer that had an higher screen resolution than ours] * removed user-list and added ability to display user-name instead of IP-address in classroom-manager [The user panel was from my point of view useless and buggy anyway] * removed remote-IP-property as not used anymore [Perfectly makes sense and doesn't change the UI that much] * fixed logon-feature from classroom-action-menu [We don't have logon in edubuntu, so this doesn't affect us] * in case user accidently changed role but no keys exist for this role try teacher-role as fallback in order to make iTALC still usable in such cases (Closes #1866440) [Bug fix] * updated spec-file for building RPMs [RPM specific] * added Polish localization-files [One more language is always a good thing] * made power-down, reboot and logoff work under Linux if no user is logged in [We have it only inside the session, so we don't use that anyway] * fixed various crashes [That includes removing scary warning/error messages that were previously shown in the console] ** Affects: italc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- FF exception, new release of iTalc (1.0.7) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201536 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
