I have noticed the same problem with fonts rendering on my Asus F5N
laptop regardless "Best shapes" (default) or subpixel dithering
settings. It is especially noticeable in Terminal and OpenOffice, and

I have this exact problem. However, I have a simpler setup -- Edgy is
my only OS. I also upgraded from Dapper.

Binary package hint: samba
Trying to play any MP3 or AVI file over a Windows share fails with an
error that says "Resource could not be read". I get this problem with
Totem, Rhythmbox, and every other xine and gstreamer-based audio/video
player. There are only two workarounds
So you're saying if you used fusesmb, that totem will stream from an SMB
share? Then why isn't it installed by default with Ubuntu? One would
think the everyday user wants this functionality.

I just discovered this was being caused due to sda1 and sda2 having the
same UUID. I have no idea how this happened, but Grub and the Linux
kernel had differing opinions on which partition to look at for the
jacked up UUID.

Yes, the solution proposed by Tobias works. Would be good to figure out
how to update the package so that it fixes for everyone else. I suspect
deleting the workspace is not needed, as long as eclipse is run with
-clean first time round.
