Public bug reported:

My ISP requires VPN (PPTP connection) to access the Internet. This should be an
easy thing to do right from the start.
And there is no easy way to configure VPN on either 7.10 or 8.04 Alpha 6
Desktop CD. Just think how essential Internet connection is to the installation
process itself, and I have no idea why pptp-linux and network-manager-pptp
packages are not installed by default. In fact, network-manager-pptp package is
not even included with the Desktop CD which makes things even worse. Please
catch up!

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
