** Description changed: - Both 7.10 and 8.04 Alpha 6 come with Atheros kernel module that gets loaded on a machine with Atheros AR5007EG wireless card id does not support. + Both 7.10 and 8.04 Alpha 6 come with Atheros kernel module that gets loaded on a machine with Atheros AR5007EG wireless card it does not support. The net result is that wireless does not work on Asus F5N and other nVidia GeForce 7000M / nForce 610M laptops ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/AsusF5N ), and restricted drivers manager will fail to start after correct kernel module is installed. The procedure for installing the correct kernel module can be found at http://www.ubuntugeek.com/atheros-5007eg-with-madwifi- on-i386-platform.html I applied it successfully to my 7.10 install and would expect 8.04 to load correct driver out of the box. The output of lspci -vvnn command is attached. -- Wrong kernel module for Atheros AR5007EG Wireless loaded - wireless not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200240 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
