Public bug reported:

On Asus F5N nVidia GeForce 7000M / nForce 610M based laptop with 15.2"
1280x800 WXGA screen Hardy 8.04 Alpha 6 boots with boot splash set to
640x480 low resolution.

If /etc/uspalsh.conf is edited to reflect correct 1280x800, it has
effect of boot splash being set to 1024x768 on shutdown but has no
effect on splash resolution during boot up.

Attached is the output of lspci -vvnn command. Asus F5N laptop page is
found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/AsusF5N
