compiled-translations .mo file is called "transmission.mo" instead of

Thanks for the info. However, PPM stands for "Pulsos Por Minuto" in the
Banshee translations:

I have a workaround which involves hacking of the
/opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount/udhcp:
1. Enter chroot.
2. # vi /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount/udhcp
and comment the line 151 which says "chmod +x /tmp/dhcp-script.sh".
3. # update-initramfs -u

OK, I found where the problem is.
Looking at /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-
premount/udhcp, line 223, you see:
ip address add $ip/$(subnet_to_cidr $subnet) dev $interface
The above line is the command which effectively sets up the IP
parameters of the network interface.
This is a patch against /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts
/init-premount/udhcp which solves the issue without side effects. Could
any LTSP developer take a look at it to see if it's OK to include it in
the next version? Thanks!

Kamus, the issue is about the strings are translated in Launchpad but
shows untranslated when they are displayed in the running application
(please read the bug report description). Can you confirm that the
strings shows translated when running system-config-printer on
Maverick?

I can confirm this bug with Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS and LTSP fat clients.
Sometimes the clients hangs during boot and sometimes (maybe during the
next reboot) they boot OK. After applying the patch to disable nbd-
proxy, all works perfectly well.

following line by default:

So which port number should I use: 2000 or 2001? Using one or another
doesn't seems to be a difference, because all works exactly equal in

Confirmed. Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS alternate install CD, booting and then
press F4 -> select "Install an LTSP server". This is what I have in my
/etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf (I don't manually changed it at all):

Interestingly, the /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf file shipped with the ltsp-
server-standalone package is right, i.e. it's exactly the same as above

The xdg-user-dirs.mo inside /usr/share/locale/xx/LC_MESSAGES is still

now. The question is: why we need a .mo file inside /usr/share/locale
and another one inside /usr/share/locale-langpack? Which is the best
one, or the right one

@David: I've just download the PO file from Launchpad and the encoding
is UTF-8. I've tried converting it to ISO-8859-1 (using "recode
utf8..iso8859-1 src_backend_po_postgres-8.4-es.po", then "msgfmt
src_backend_po_postgres-8.4-es.po", then copying the .mo generated file
into /usr/share/locale-lang
This is not a problem in Lucid, IMHO. The problem has been introduced
with Maverick's new version of the light themes, and (again IMHO) is a
big usability issue.

translations, which in turn comes from Debian, i.e. the Debian
translations takes preference over the Ubuntu translations in the

I have the same problem using Ubuntu Server 10.04.1 LTS, fully updated.
Sometimes statd starts during system boot and sometimes don't. I resolve
it replacing the "start on ..." line with:
start on runlevel [2]
