The source folders are owned by my user and the user has rwx permissions on the
folders.
Dolphin does however show at least one other linked folder where the
actual source is under my home directory (e.g. PlayOnLinux ->

I fixed the issue by adding the following lines to /etc/rc.local:

sudo ifconfig wlp2s0 down &&
sudo macchanger -e wlp2s0 &&
sudo ifconfig wlp2s0 up &&
sudo service network-manager start
Now my MAC address is getting changed every time I restart.

Yea I have no idea, this hasn't had a dist-upgrade in its life-cycle to
introduce some weird malfunction. I've reinstalled bash and grep
throughout this. You're right though egrep is nothing but a passthrough
to grep. Maybe something upstream is corrupt.

Hello,
i have experienced reproducable crashes of the installer. The problem
seems to be that my boot partition is to small. I have a /boot partition
of about 100 MB
The problem seems to be that the initrd file in the boot partition is
very big and cannot be properly updated

I upgraded the Kernel through the Ukuu commands in terminal, then
rebooted into the new kernel, then rebooted into the bios and it was
fixed.
Rebooting back into 4.13.0-21-generic without any further bricking
because nvidia drivers don't work for 4.14
I think this is still an issue. At least, I made a new Xenial box from
ami-c1167eb8 (Amazon AWS, eu-west-1, xenial, 16.04, amd64, hvm-ssd, 20180205).
Is that a 'daily'? After 'apt update', amongst other packages, these grub
packages were available to update:
grub-common:amd64 (2.02~beta2-36ub

It appears that pressing the 'preview' or 'settings' button on
xscreensaver "interferometry" causes a massive spike in memory usage
(>1Gb) followed by a massive system slowdown and eventually a complete
hang. (I assume because I'm out of memory).

Xscreensaver 'interferometry' crashes session

Attached is a screenshot showing output of Top and system monitor. It
shows the initial memory spike. I then tried the "settings" button and
things got worse -- so bad, in fact, that top stopped refreshing, so I
don't have evidence of that.

I have the same problem. I have a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04 (32bit)
and everything was good until 19th May - so presumably an update at that
time has somehow disabled USB keyboard detection. When I get the login
screen I cannot type my password. If I remove the keyboard USB plug then
re-insert
I think I'm seeing this too. I get at least one X crash (forced logout)
or kernel crash (hang, flashing keyboard lights) every day.
This is in 12.04. When I installed (fresh install) that was linux-
headers-3.2.0-20; still happening now in -23.

After thinking about things I tried uninstalling Mercurial and
TortoiseHg, changing the repositories back to original and reinstalling
the original versions and everything was working including the
Workbench. So it seems that a key part of the problem for me was the
missing .tortoisehg/notify file,
