It has been 6 months since my comment. #3. Does anyone at Canonical care to solve this problem on a LTS release???!!? Seriously how can anyone take Canonical/Mark Shuttleworth/Ubuntu seriously if after 6 Months on a LTS release that is supposed to work, no one has even bothered to respond to this bug report with any info. Do people at Canonical care that users can scan in an LTS release? This is a REGRESSION because this scanner worked flawlessly out of the box with 9.10 and now will not work at all in the 10.04 LTS release. As someone who has been using Ubuntu since Hoary I have to say Ubuntu is steadily declining on the quality front. Regressions are expected to be the order of the day now. So you tell people to use the LTS if they are in a professional environment then they have to wait 2 years to upgrade or upgrade to a NON-LTS release and hope this fixes a scanner that used to work previously? Ridiculous.
