I just disabled Intel Speedstep in the BIOS and resuming works. (got the
suggestion from bug #578673, linked from #632538 which appears to be a
similar issue). This seems to be OK as a workaround for now, and may
shed some light on the root cause of the issue.

Just as a reference for the Interwebz, I had this problem as well, but
eventually discovered that I had a bad (relative) file path in the
'incomplete-dir' configuration key.

I have the same symptoms. Both Firefox and java processes are in the
"futex_wait_queue_me" state. It usually recovers after 20-30 seconds. It
usually happens right after starting Firefox, but sometimes also during normal
use.

Wanted to add another report. as of 10/26/2010
Brand new Dell XPS 9100 Realtek card.
Came with Windows 7. Internet was working, downloaded Maverick, burnt
CD.

Just figured out what is going on here.
It was actually chromium causing the leakage in the X server when it has
"GPU Accelerated Canvas 2D" enabled (it's off by default). I just
disabled it, restarted X and now things are working brilliantly again.

I've had at least one report that the 2.6.36 imon module behaves as
expected for another imon/mce user -- but it does still require v4l-
utils ir-keytable. However, I don't think the problem here is actually
in the imon code itself, but rather in the ir layer, so simply pulling
in imon.c from 2.6.3
I should be more specific: on this particular notebook there is an
hardware kill switch that when switched on turns orange led into blue.
In Maverick led stays orange and there is are no new messages visible in
dmesg after moving kill switch several times between "on" and "off"
position.

Also still getting this or a similar issue with Ubuntu 10.10 and Radeon
X1650 even after switching to a 2.6 mainline kernel build.

I’m experiencing the same issue as CirclingTheSun on the same machine.
The strange thing is that these freezes were rare when I was running
Lucid, but have started occurring consistently after upgrading to
Maverick. Specifically, if I am on battery and the machine has resumed
from suspect, then the

to file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf solves the kill switch problem and now
led turns blue, but the connection speeds are rather poor -- 4 times slower
compared to cable.

Mmm... I must have done something wrong before, because it appears to be
working properly now.
I am using Zend Studio (Eclipse) to write to files in the .gvfs hidden
