In my Acer 4730z, the rt2800pci modules causes the wifi to never connect
to any AP.

There is a pretty simple workaround:
Create a file named: /etc/modprobe.d/rt2800pci-disable.conf
And set the contents to:
blacklist rt2800pci

Hopefully, this will help other affected users until a real fix for this
issue is provided.
