Same issue. I received a notice that I had a subscription request (a
buddy added me). I ended up having to use pidgin to authorize the
request. Afterwards, the buddy appeared in empathy properly.
empathy probably expects notification-daemon with interactive
notifications.

After an update to Firefox, when quitting firefox via CTRL+Q (to work

When connecting the AC power cord to my laptop, gnome-power-manager
sometimes reports the battery is fully-charged. The notification icon
appears to be a fully-charged battery with AC cord. The tooltip says
something like "Laptop batte

doesn't seem to work for my machine (macbook3,1), I must be remembering
my previous macbook laptop.

using a the most recent mainline kernel (uname -r is
2.6.30-020630-generic). It threw an error as it is not an "official"
kernel, but continued on to collect other system information.
