problem is identical to the user referenced at the link above. The ./configure
fails with the same message and

example where 1. e4 is rated as within the blunder threshold but 1... c5 was
more than 0.5 worse than the previous game where Black's 20th move was highly
rated by the engine.

I took a collection of games and wanted to analyse the openings (defined by me
as first 20 moves of a game) of the games in this particular database. I
selected "find opening errors" and set that parameter to 20. I also set the

games are selected for analysis) that SCID send a command to the engine to tell
it to stop. This saves CPU wear (temperature will be lower) and battery (if
using a laptop that is not plugged in).

I opened a SCID database and then clicked new game. I then made a few moves on
the board and ran an opening report. Then, on the board, I made one more move
and proceeded to click "Update" on the opening report. The result is this error:

I checked with the Naum4 author and he says this is a bug in SCID -- he says
SCID does not sent the 'uci' command to the engine when starting a serious
game...
Can you confirm and if so, can a fix be developed?

I have discovered that promotions are not handled properly when the promotion
piece is in upper case (i.e. d2d1Q). It appears that the UCI protocol does not
force lower or upper case for the promotion piece so some engines use lower and
some use upper case.

I updated from CVS as of yesterday (2008-12-22) and just noticed this (probably
a bug for longer than the current version). Open a database and do a search.

I've tried to run Rybka3-64bit with microwine and SCID and it does not work.
SCID pops up a dialog that suggests there is a problem with the engine.
However, via the command line, I can run Rybka3-64-bit and microwine just fine.
Can someone suggest a workaround or clues as to where to look for
I have set up an engine in SCID for Rybka-3 using microwine. When I try to
start Rybka-3 it crashes with "The analysis engine terminated without warning;
it probably crashed or had an internal error".
The log from this engine in the .scid directory shows (at the end) this:

I am tryng to run a 64-bit Rybka 3 via microwine using SCID on my Ubuntu 8.04
64-bit system. When I start Rybka3 it crashes. Microwine and rybka3 run fine in

I've broken something but I cannot figure out what. Sure, my hash table
limitations continue, but now when I try to run the multi-cpu version of
Rybka3, 'top' shows that two engines start but quickly only one engine goes
away.

I just downloaded and compiled 3.6.24. The analysis window only shows the
current PV and not the previous PVs. Is there a way to show each PV as it is
calculated and scroll the PVs so the user can see how it changes over time?
Without that, I'm afraid I'll have to go back to .23 ...
