Pascal,

I use Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04 (both 64-bit) on several systems and the result is
the same. The crash happens within 1 second of launching (maybe less). There
definitely is not a 3 to 5 second pause -- it happens much sooner than that.

What values should I try to raise? I'm not familiar with SCID's source and I'm
not a C programmer (though I've programmed in many other languages 25 years
ago).

Roy

Engine crash is detected after a certain time without any response
(values usually between 3 and 5 sec when a reply is expected). I tried
changing this parameter (Contempt Analyze) under windows XP and Linux
(with Wine) and it works for me. Maybe you could dig in Scid's code
and raise some values to see if it solves the problem ?
