I have been able to mirror drives by creating the same partitions on each
drive, then creating a raidtab as following:

parses through /proc/mdstat looking for bad raiddisks. I don't use
RAID-0 on my systems and so have no entry in /proc/mdstat. Anybody
using software RAID-0 care to mail me (offlist) their /proc/mdstat

The prolem with IBM's CS is that it runs on a specific kernel 2.4.18-3
any other level and CS will not install.

The more configurable the better, preferably Perl based.

Not at the moment, no. It's colo'd at an ISP, and if I need to ever
