The card has ISA w/ no jumpers or switches and it is (i believed) a plug
and play card.
It is installed at the time the RH 9 is installed.
About the driver, Kudzu detect the card at startup and I assumed that it
already load the proper drivers like for ex. what kudzu did on my

Simple Explanation: You had a floppy mounted, you removed the disk without
unmounting. Then when your 4am (RedHat default setting) cron jobs were
running, the slocate script tried to add the entries in /mnt/floppy
(or wherever) to the locate database thus causing errors since the disk

I got a whole bunch of these the last few mornings at approx 4:AM on a
compaq server and found that although I had fd0 mounted there was no
floppy in the drive. We will see if that was it.

one is depreciated!) and look for char-major-5 you may see a module
specified in the second column, that is what should be loaded by the
system against that name. There is a list of what all the char-major-??

I'd think it was something in the Remote Machine ~/ login files
(.bash_profile, .bashrc, or whatever shell you use) that is
trying to parse but can't due to the remote session.
Specifically, look for "stty" strings in your login files
and comment them out for test. (make a cp first!).

from a directory that doesn't exist.
Example,
cd /usr/trash
Then in another xterm or VC, type rmdir /usr/trash

Hello all;
Have checked around but am unable to find out the
problem my Pentium 133 with 32MB RAM and RHL 5.0,
is trying to tell me about. I have two NICs on this machine
and on the second I get this message on the screen:
eth1: CU wedged, status 0240 , resetting...
Neither I nor my use
I get:
insmod: unregister_snap_client: wrong version or undefined
.
.
insmod: skb_free_datagram : wrong version or undefined
and so on...
