I had this same problem and found the answer by searching the archives at www.dejanews.com. For me the answer was to set the timezone variable. export TZ=CST It doesn't seem like it should make a difference, but it worked. The archives at dejanews are a life saver when you have a problem. T

Is there any way to unzip a file zipped with Windows PKZIP without having to boot into Windows. Sometimes I download files and then copy the unzipped file to a disk. I'd rather not have to reboot twice to accomplish the task and then get back to work in Linux. Have a good day! -Vicki

Thanks to all who helped with my WIN95+LInux install on a 6.4GB drive. It turned out that the problem was just that / wasn't under the 1024 cylinder limit. I turned on LBA for the drive and got it to a total of 7?? cylinders, so that everything on the drive is below the limit. I would sware that

Thanks to all who helped. My problem turned out to be that the SCSI card was conflicting. And, one that perplexes me still, I had to use the new serial cable even though the old one worked when I took it out of the system. Between those two fixes and adding the mem line again, it all works.
