Does that precede or follow the lines that httpd is warning you about?
It should precede them. If it does, post your config.

ok, one of the error messages when shutting down is "/shared not mounted".
btw, its /shared not /home like i said in earlier messages. i did
"/sbin/fuser -vm /shared" and it returns nothing at all. also if i run that
command from kde's konsole, it kills xwindows...whats up with that?

I don't think yoare correct. If samba's printing system is cups, samba
never gets the job, and so, cannot run your script.
The solution is very easy, save your script as a cups backend called
called pdf and install it as a printer, as documented in my email.
But I could be wrong...

Samba, and I need to retrieve the files before everybody starts logging in
and overwriting them tomorrow morning!!
I can go in to debugfs and with lsdel can see lots of undeleted files, but
